Est. 350 bhp, 350 cu. in. OHV V-8 engine, four-speed Hydra-Matic transmission, independent front suspension and live rear axle with air springs, and four-wheel power disc brakes. Wheelbase: 112 in.

The popularity of 1932, 1936, and 1940 Fords as street rods has made it difficult to build new ones, as the supply of solid original cars, the “raw materials,” has diminished markedly. Newly built fiberglass bodies and custom frames have helped fill the void, but some entrepreneurs have embarked on a completely different path. Among these is the Oze Rod Shop in Hamilton, Ohio, which offers body and frame kits based on the 1937 Ford design.

The Oze kit is available in coupe and roadster forms, and it features a custom frame that retains the Ford’s 112-inch wheelbase for proper proportions. Cars can be set up for large or small block Ford or Chevy engines.

This Oze Coupe has Corvette LS-1 power and a 4L60E Hydra-Matic overdrive transmission. The axle is a nine-inch Ford unit, and both the front and rear have Accu-Air suspension and Wilwood power hydraulic disc brakes. Its paint is dark metallic red, and the interior is of brown leather and has gauges from Classic Instruments and a Boss Marine sound system. Fuzion ZR-1 tires are mounted on Budnik wheels, with 215/40R17 in the front and 275/45R20 at the rear.

This multiple award winner was shown at the Grand National Roadster Show in 2010, and it won a Del Mar Award of Excellence and Sleek and Smooth award at Goodguys the same year. Other 2010 honors include a Best of Show at the Glendale, Arizona, Civic Center; a Platinum Award at Pismo Beach; and a Best of Show at Hot August Nights Sierra in Reno. This Oze Custom has travelled just 611 miles since the completion of the build, and it is indeed ready for show.
