Wheelbase: 2,500 mm

Addendum: Please note that this car has recently been certified by Ferrari Classiche.

By 1981 when the 512 BBi was introduced, Ferrari’s Berlinetta Boxer was already a mainstay in the company’s line-up. First upgraded from the 365 GT4 BB to the 512 BB, the changes to the next model of Berlinetta Boxer would be significantly more subtle in an effort to fine-tune the platform into a more well-rounded and usable machine.

Of course, the major change with the new 512 BBi was the addition of Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, which brought an increase of 20 foot-pounds of torque and helped make the engine more tractable overall. Performance remained extraordinary, and the 512 BBi could sprint from 0–60 mph in just 5.4 seconds and accelerate onwards to an estimable top speed of 174 mph. The 512 BBi also received a handful of cosmetic changes, which included the addition of driving lights at the front and rectangular parking lights at the rear.

This particular 512 BBi was first registered in July of 1982 in Milan and has remained in its native Italy ever since. Currently finished in a traditional Ferrari colour scheme of Rosso with Nero boxer trim and a matching Nero interior, the car presents quite well. The car has recently received a full, engine-out service at the respected specialists Toni Auto in Maranello, and it is ready for the road in every respect. Furthermore, the car is accompanied by its original books and tools.

As the final iteration and most refined model of the Berlinetta Boxer series, the 512 BBi is an excellent driver’s car, offering a wonderful combination of performance, reliability, and refinement. Many tifosi consider this model to be one of the best-driving Ferraris of the 1980s and a compelling alternative to the Lamborghini Countach. Featuring a recent engine-out service, this particular example is ready for the open road and is sure to please its next owner.
