Many aficionados consider the Corniche Drophead Coupé to be one of the most beautiful Rolls-Royce models ever built. What began life as a version of the Silver Shadow, first introduced in 1967, was called the Silver Shadow Mulliner-Park Ward Drophead Coupé. It was replaced with the simple yet supremely elegant Corniche name in March 1971. Sister Bentley offered a companion model called the Continental, which differed only in the radiator shell, a reminder of glorious Bentleys of the past. Ironically, the Corniche name was first used on a 1939 prototype based on the Bentley Mark V, which was never produced due to the onset of World War II.

The Series III Corniche was introduced at the 1989 Frankfurt Auto Show. Updates from the previous model included new wheels, body colour bumpers, a revised suspension system, front air bags, and MK-Motronic fuel injection. Minor changes were made to the dashboard console and seats.

This Series III Corniche was originally delivered by Rolls-Royce, of Beverley Hills, California, to Mr Erik Watts, of the same city, on 11th March 1992. Having been sold some time later to just one additional owner, it spent the remainder of its life in Florida and has covered a mere 55,000 miles since new, as verified by accompanying CarFax reports. In addition, Rolls-Royce Foundation documentation is available for inspection.

This is an exceptional example of a later-series Corniche III finished in a stunning combination of black with a black Everflex hood and contrasting magnolia Connolly hides. The interior features impeccable woods throughout, as well as special-order cocktail cabinet door panels from new. Equipped with new tyres, this vehicle is described as in excellent condition both cosmetically and mechanically. Imported to the United Kingdom with all UK taxes paid, it is ready to be driven and enjoyed.
