As a company that is continually surging forward in technological advancements, it seemed natural that Ferrari should at some point celebrate the hugely advanced engineering behind its remarkable cars. A small team headed by the Head of Global Sales, Head of Special Sales, and Head of Aerodynamics came together to create a series of models that would illustrate how Ferrari’s cars are heavily influence by airflow in their design.

Using Computational Fluid Dynamics visualisations showing the air pressures and flows across the bodywork, this dazzling array of colours creates a remarkable impression of speed.

The shape is produced using carbon rapid prototyping around an aluminium inner structure, so that the model is a perfect 2:5 scale representation of the hugely successful Ferrari 488 Pista 'Piloti Ferrari'. Remarkably, the colours are hand-brushed by some of Ferrari’s finest painters from the company’s Special Projects team—a rare moment when exact computer analysis is brought to life by human hand.

The perfect sculpture for any devotee of the marque, this remarkable piece is one of eight made, all of which were only sold new to VIP clients of Ferrari, making this an incredibly rare opportunity.
