Considerably awed by Porsche’s brand-new 956 Group C car, and forced to change cars due to new FIA regulations, Cesare Florio and the head of Martini Racing immediately began work on a car that could be competitive against it—what would become the LC2. The solution was a Lancia-built, Ferrari-engined sports car. The LC2 was equipped with Ferrari’s naturally aspirated V-8, reduced in capacity to 2.6-litres, and topped with twin-turbochargers—producing a maximum output of 650 horsepower. The body was an aluminium monocoque with Kevlar and carbon fibre bodywork, designed to feed air through the nose along the sides, cooling the turbochargers. Despite gaining pole position against the fearsome 956 multiple times, the LC2 won three victories in its career. On offer here is LC2 chassis number 0009, which has raced at Le Mans, Nürburgring, and Magny-Cours, among other tracks. Presented in red and fitted with harness seatbelts and Dunlop tyres, it is offered with an assortment of spare parts and would make an exceptional historic racing machine.

Preoccupato dalle prestazioni della nuova Porsche 956 Gruppo C, costretto a cambiare auto a causa dei nuovi regolamenti della FIA, Cesare Fiorio, alla testa della Squadra Corse Lancia Martini, ha subito iniziato lo sviluppo di una nuova vettura in grado di opporsi alla 956, la LC2. La soluzione ideata è stata quella di una vettura sport realizzata dalla Lancia ed equipaggiata con un motore Ferrari. La LC2 è stata così dotata di un motore V-8 aspirato di produzione Ferrari, ridotto nella cilindrata a 2,6 litri, e arricchito di due turbo compressori per portare la potenza massima a 650 Cv. La vettura era realizzata con una monoscocca in alluminio con carrozzeria in Kevlar e fibra di carbonio progettata per incanalare l’aria dal muso verso i fianchi e, con quella, raffreddare i turbocompressori. Capace di conquistare numerose pole position proprio contro le temibili 956, la LC2 ha vinto, nella sua carriera, tre gare. Presentata all’asta è la LC2 numero di telaio 0009, che ha corso, tra le altre gare, a Le Mans, al Nürburgring ed a Magny-Cours. Presentata con la livrea rossa e dotata di cinture di sicurezza a sei punti e pneumatici Dunlop, è offerta con un vasto assortimento di pezzi di ricambio, pronta ad essere un’eccezionale macchina da corsa per le gare storiche.
