78 bhp, 3,208 cc inline six-cylinder engine with dual carburettors, four-speed manual transmission, front independent suspension with transverse leaf springs and rear swing axle suspension, and front and rear hydraulic brakes. Wheelbase: 3,300 mm

During the evolution of the 290, the Mercedes-Benz 320 was intended to help bridge the gap between Mercedes-Benz’s large- and medium-sized vehicles. The platform was very versatile, and it was offered with either a long- or short-wheelbase chassis. This allowed the 320 to be sold in a variety of different body styles, including a saloon, cabriolet, roadster, and an open touring car, all of which provided its passengers with both the levels of performance and comfort that customers came to expect from Mercedes-Benz.

Riding on the longer wheelbase offering of the 320 chassis, this 1938 320 Cabriolet B is easily one of the most elegant body styles offered, as it features four seats and windows with two doors. Before coming to Europe, it had resided in New Hampshire and then Pennsylvania. The engine and drivetrain all appear to be comprised of original components and have been cosmetically restored. The exterior paint, bodywork, and chrome all appear to be in very good condition as well, with the black paint being set off by chrome wire wheels shod with blackwall tyres. The interior is in incredible condition, and the leather and carpets show nearly no sign of wear whatsoever. The darkly stained woodwork has clearly been very well maintained and is of the highest quality, which is synonymous with the name Mercedes-Benz.

Overall, this car presents in very nice cosmetic condition. With its immaculate wood trim, red leather, and glossy black paint, this is a very attractive automobile that fits in quite well with the most elegant era in automotive design. Mercedes-Benz 320 Cabriolets such as this one are desirable automobiles for both their looks and their driving characteristics, and an example such as this would be a great addition into any collection.
