The Mercedes-Benz 320 offered here, which is desirable for long-distance touring due to the combination of its side-valve six and four-speed synchromesh gearbox, is equipped with the factory limousine body, and it is wearing an older re-spray in black with matching black steel wheels. It also exhibits some wear to the panel edges and minor blistering in other places. The exterior trim appears to be largely original, with some buffing showing through the plating. Options such as the dual side-mounted spare tyres with pedestal mirrors, fog lights, a rear luggage rack, and externally mounted trafficators add to the stately image of this limousine.

Inside the engine bay, a light detailing is apparent, as the cylinder head, intake manifold, and several other ancillary components are wearing silver paint, and the engine shows moderate wear and staining from use and age. There is minor overspray from the most recent paintwork, but a careful paint detail should reverse this easily. A tag affixed to the engine block indicates that the engine was either rebuilt or replaced by the factory during its early life.

The driver’s compartment is finished in black vinyl and displays gracefully, with only light wear to the bench seat. It is complemented by black carpeting lining the floor, which shows no obvious wear. An ash grey headliner, which extends the length of the car, appears tidy and unworn, save for minor soiling, and an auxiliary temperature gauge has been fitted under the dash. The striking wood trim throughout the cabin has been well looked after, with only minor wear from use evident, and the rear passenger compartment is separated by an elegant partition of wood and glass, with provisions for a clock in the centre of the rear dash. Blue cloth and matching blue carpeting nicely appoint the passenger compartment, and both show very well. Furthermore, fold-away jump seats provide additional seating, allowing for seven passengers in total. This stately example is small enough to be used as an owner-driver conveyance, but it also bears the classic features of a chauffeur-driven motor car, and it is still commands attention on the road.
