  • A California truck with 36,639 original miles
  • A ground-up restoration

200 bhp, 292 cu. in. OHV V-8 engine, three-speed automatic transmission, beam axle with leaf-spring suspension, and four-wheel drum brakes. Wheelbase: 110 in.

One of the numerous and excellent pickup truck restorations to be found in Jeffrey Day’s collection is on this pristine 1959 F-100. Mr. Day reports that the truck came from California, where it had obviously been delivered new, as recognized by the presence of the original California smog equipment that is still under the hood. It was in good, solid original condition when it was acquired, with only about 36,000 actual miles showing on the odometer, which is a reading that it still retains today.

The truck underwent a ground-up restoration and received a quality refinish in Goldenrod Yellow, which is flattering to the lines of the upmarket Custom Cab and the western-type rear bumper. All of the chrome and bright metal trim throughout is described as being in excellent overall condition, with the grille in particular appearing brand new. The engine bay is nicely detailed to show standards and reveals the optional 200-brake horsepower V-8, a Holley carburetor, a chrome air cleaner, “Power King” valve covers, and a ram’s horn intake manifold, which leads out to a dual exhaust with steel “never rust” mufflers. The F-100 rides on wide whitewall bias-ply B.F. Goodrich tires, which are wrapped around painted white steel wheels that have stainless steel trim rings and center caps.

This F-100 is a high-quality example of a seldom-seen year, and it is deserving of a fine new home.
