Type 964. 247 bhp, 3,600 cc air-cooled horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, four-speed Tiptronic transmission, independent front suspension with lower control arms, MacPherson struts with combined coil springs and dampers, and an anti-roll bar; independent rear suspension with semi-trailing arms, combined coil springs and dampers, and an anti-roll bar; and four-wheel ventilated disc brakes Wheelbase: 89.4 in.

Addendum: Please note that while Mint Green is exceedingly rare, it was not "paint to sample" as referenced in the catalogue. Furthermore, a total of 65 examples with the Tiptronic gearbox were built for the US, not 16.

Porsche’s original 356 Speedster directly targeted enthusiasts who valued performance over creature comforts, and the same was true of the revived Speedsters of 1989 and 1994. These Speedsters had just two seats, a lower rounded windshield, and a fiberglass tonneau cover.

Unlike the 1989 Speedster, the 1994 Type 964 Speedster was initially offered without wide-body rear fenders, giving it a more understated and dignified look. This new Speedster bridged the gap between the 964 Carrera 2 Cabriolet and the track-ready Carrera RS. Air conditioning and a stereo were available as options, but overall it was void of almost all comforts offered by the Carrera 2 Cabriolet. The Speedster had a minimalist convertible top that was really only there in case of bad weather. Despite its initial goal to build 3,000 Speedsters, Porsche only ended up building 931 over its two-year production run.

This is believed to be one of only a few Mint Green Speedsters produced and is one of 175 cars built with the Tiptronic automatic transmission, of which only 65 were destined for the US. It was first sold to an owner in Florida through Champion Motors in Pompano Beach, one of the largest and most well-known Porsche dealerships in the world, renowned for its success in motorsport. For a more comfortable driving experience, it was ordered with standard 911 seats instead of the typical racing bucket seats found in most Speedsters. Optional air conditioning with full climate control and a stereo make this Speedster a much more usable and easier car to live with than most other Speedsters. Furthermore, the car’s original stereo has been upgraded with a more modern Alpine unit.

The car remained in Florida through the early 2000s until being sold to an owner in California, and then to Illinois. Acquired by its current owner and imported to Switzerland in 2009, it has just 20,800 miles from new. Included in the sale are the owner’s manuals, dealer directory, warranty booklet, tool roll, and window sticker.

The combination of the Tiptronic transmission, comfortable seats, air conditioning, and a stereo make this possibly the most luxurious 964 Speedster available.
