Chassis number 2060 was delivered new to Vicenza-based Scuderia Mik Corse for the 2004 Italian GT Championship, which consisted of eight rounds each divided into two separate one-hour races with driver changes. Driven principally by Giovanni Berton, along with a roster of co-drivers including Cristian Francescon, Alessandro Piccolo, and ‘Linos’, 2060 started off the season with an encouraging 2nd in class in the opening round at Imola. Thereafter, class wins were taken at Mugello, Enna-Pergusa (finishing 2nd overall), Misano-Adriatico, and in the final round at Vallelunga. In the overall classification, Berton ended up with an admirable 4th place in the second-tier N-GT standings.

In April 2005, the car was sold to Scuderia Playteam for their dual Italian and Spanish GT Championship campaigns. Alessandro Pier Guidi and Toni Vilander—the latter soon to become a fully fledged Scuderia Ferrari GT driver—would compete in Italy, whereas team owner Giambattista Giannoccaro would share with Pier Guidi in the Spanish rounds. In the single-class Spanish series, 2060 proved to be quite successful, and overall victories were taken at Jarama, Valencia, Estoril, and Barcelona en route to winning the Championship. With eight class wins from 14 starts in Italy, Pier Guidi and Vilander sealed a memorable Championship double for the team.

A remarkable footnote to the 2005 season was the team’s trip to Brazil in January 2006 for the Interlagos 1000 Milhas, where Pier Guidi, Giannoccaro, and Vilander continued their excellent form with a class win, and 4th place overall. That they finished five laps ahead of the nearest class opposition, and were beaten only by three higher-specification GTP1 cars— the winning car driven by local hero and triple World Champion Nelson Piquet—tells of the magnitude of their effort.

Interlagos aside, the car saw only occasional use during the following two seasons, and ownership passed from Scuderia Playteam to the vendor in May 2008. Meticulously maintained by Michelotto Automobili in Padova ever since, 2060 has recently received a comprehensive mechanical overhaul totaling some €60.000. A copy of the invoice, with detailed breakdown, is available on file.

The car is presented in the fetching 2005 Scuderia Playteam livery, and according to the vendor—fitment of new tyres and cambelt aside—is now ready to be enjoyed ‘on track’ once again.

Il numero di telaio 2060 è stato consegnato nuovo alla Scuderia Mik Corse di Vicenza per il Campionato Italiano GT del 2004, che consisteva di otto prove, ciascuna divisa in due distinte gare di un'ora con cambio pilota. Guidato principalmente da Giovanni Berton, insieme a un elenco di co-piloti, tra cui Cristian Francescon, Alessandro Piccolo, e ‘Linos’, 2060 ha iniziato la stagione con un incoraggiante secondo posto di classe, nella gara di apertura a Imola. Da allora in poi, ha vinto la sua classe al Mugello, ad Enna-Pergusa (finendo 2 ° assoluto), Misano-Adriatico e nella gara finale di Vallelunga. Nella classifica generale, Berton ha concluso con un ammirevole 4° posto nella classifica della seconda categoria N-GT.

Nell'aprile 2005, la vettura è stata venduta alla Scuderia Playteam per essere impiegata nel Campionato GT, sia quello italiano sia in quello spagnolo. Alessandro Pier Guidi e Toni Vilander-quest'ultimo destinato ben presto a diventare un pilta uffciale della Scuderia Ferrari GT- avrebbero corso in Italia, mentre il proprietario del team Giambattista Giannoccaro avrebbe condiviso il volante, nei turni spagnoli, con Pier Guidi. Nella classe unica della serie spagnola, 2060 ha dimostrato di essere estremamente competitivo, vincendo l’assoluto al Jarama, a Valencia, all’Estoril ed a Barcellona ed ha conquistato la vittoria finale in campionato e grazie alla vittoria di Campionato in Italia, con otto vittorie di classe su 14 partenze, di Pier Guidi e Vilander il team ha siglato una memorabile doppia vittoria di Campionato.

Un’appendice importante alla stagione 2005 è stato il viaggio del team in Brasile, nel Gennaio del 2006, per correre la 1000 Miglia di Interlagos, dove Pier Guidi, Giannoccaro e Vilander hanno confermato la loro forma eccellente, con una vittoria di classe, ed il 4° posto assoluto. A conferma dell’importanza di questo risultato, basti dire che la vettura della stessa classe classificata più vicina, ha concluso con 5 giri di distacco, mentre, prima di loro hanno concluso solo tre vetture delle categoria superiore GTP1 e che, la macchina vincente è risultata quella guidata dell’eroe locale, e 3 volte campione del mondo di Formula 1, Nelson Piquet.

Terminata la gara di Interlagos, la macchina ha visto un uso occasionale durante le seguenti due stagioni e, nel Maggio 2008, la proprietà è passata dalla Scuderia Playteam a quella dell’attuale venditore. Meticolosamente manutenuta dalla Michelotto Automobili di Padova fin da allora, 2060 ha recentemente ricevuto una revisione meccanica completa per un totale di circa € 60.000. Una copia della fattura, con una distinta dettagliata dei lavori svolti, è disponibile per la consultazione.

La vettura è presentata negli attraenti colori della Scuderia Playteam del 2005 e, secondo il venditore, fatti salvi il montaggio di nuovi pneumatici e di nuove cinghie, la macchina è pronta per essere, ancorea un volta, riportata in pista.
