Car Specialist – North America
Cameron Smyth joined RM Sotheby’s as a Car Specialist in 2015, working out of our corporate office and providing assistance on cataloguing trips, including the company’s record-setting Duemila Ruote sale in November 2016.
Growing up in rural Ontario, Cameron, along with his father, spent a great deal of time working on small engines and agricultural equipment, fueling his passion for all things automotive. At age 15 he purchased his first car, a 1977 Chevrolet Corvette. Since then, Cameron has not only owned, but also restored a number of classic cars, including a 1981 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 and a 1968 Chevrolet C10—his current daily driver. Cameron has a particular specialty in classic motorcycles and has owned over 100 himself. He currently maintains a modest collection of approximately 30 vintage bikes, including a 1968 Honda CL250, a 1965 Honda CB450 K0 Black Bomber, and a 1978 Honda CB750F Super Sport.
Cameron graduated from Humber College with a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, specializing in Transportation Design. In his spare time, he can be found working on 1950s–1970s classic cars, trucks, and motorcycles. His current projects include a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro and a 1975 Honda CB500T.
