- Featuring many original components and speed parts

This all-steel 1931 Ford, nicknamed “Ol’ Jiggles,” was originally built over 50 years ago in Southern California where many of the original “Hot Rods” were first conceived and built. Since then, it has benefited from a professional concours quality restoration that was completed less than five years ago at a cost in excess of $50,000. Not satisfied with the flathead motor after the restoration, the owner, who was an engineer, sent it to a flathead expert and oversaw the rebuild, ensuring it was conducted to extreme tolerances and precision.

Finished in a gorgeous deep black cherry metallic, it also features subtle pinstriped red flames on the removable side engine covers and the hood, which are accented by the red leather interior, door panels, and trunk. Built using many components from other cars, this custom features a 1932 Auburn V12 dash, a Pierce Arrow clock, a Stanley Steamer steering wheel and a Duesenberg reverse-wind cable-driven tachometer. Also sporting a 1932 Ford grille and Wood Lite headlights, as well as many other unique features, this example remains in show-quality condition, from the paint and brightwork to the interior.

This early hot rod features an early Ford flathead V8 with Edelbrock heads and an Offenhauser intake that is adorned with three Stromberg 97 carburetors that provide tremendous torque. Putting that power to the pavement is a Borg-Warner T10 four-speed manual transmission, and 1958 Buick finned and vented front drum brakes bring this custom to a halt.

Benefiting from long term ownership, this is the first time the car has been offered publicly in over 50 years. This is therefore an extremely rare opportunity to acquire a period built all-steel hot rod in exceptional condition for either the show-field or cruising the boulevard from stoplight to stoplight, as it was originally intended.
