Seldom has a name been so iconic as Triumph’s Bonneville, first introduced in 1959. Named for the famous Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, home to innumerable speed runs and records, the original T100 Bonneville commemorated a 193.3 mph record set in 1955 by Johnny Allen on a methanol-fueled Triumph streamliner. The first Bonneville was a 650 cc parallel twin, a configuration shared by all its namesakes, though displacement is now nearly 50 percent larger. From the beginning, the Bonneville offered outstanding performance and excellent value. Successive generations of T120 and T140 Bonnevilles survived the company’s ups and downs through 1983.

In 2006, British fashion designer Paul Smith was commissioned to style a series of special Bonnevilles, from which two designs were chosen for limited production. Designated “Multi Union” and “Live Fast,” each was built in a limited edition of 50 bikes, order books being closed when that quantity was reached. The Multi Union featured a stylized Union Jack motif and the Live Fast a kaleidoscope of colors.

Move over, Austin Powers! Number 07 of a mere 50 produced, this 2006 Triumph T100 Bonneville features the smooth 865 cc powerplant. It became an instant icon due to its custom factory livery from the acclaimed designer. A single-owner, 170-mile example, this motorcycle is virtually new with regular dealer maintenance since acquisition. The bike includes its extra “mock-crock” custom leather seat, full factory books and the unused Paul Smith leather pouch.

Stylish and striking, it is a sought-after modern collectible. Sure to please the discriminating collector, it comes with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Paul Smith and Triumph company owner John Bloor.
